At 12:30 hrs. a member of the company reported a working vehicle fire at the corner of Strouse Ave. and Waddle Rd. in Patton Township. Before the engine arrived multiple attempts were made to extinguish the fire with dry chemical extinguishers. When E514 arrived on scene the mini-van was fully involved. The crew from E514 pulled the trash line and extinguished the fire. E512 arrived on the scene and went to work assisting the crew from E514 with opening up the rear hatch. Units operated on the scene for approximately 45 mins. Chief 503 (Schreiner) had incident command. Responding units were E514, E512, R518, and 534 (Command Unit).
