Chief 504 responded and arrived on scene, advising County that a chopper was to be placed on stand-by. Engine 514 was directed to establish a landing zone. The passenger was reported as confined to the vehicle with head lacerations, and a door needed to be popped. Chief 504 reported the possibility of a vehicle occupant may have fled the scene.
Engine 510 arrived on scene and immediately stabilized the vehicle, and provided adequate working light. EMS rolled in behind the engine and prepared to assist in patient removal. Engine crews popped the driver's side door, and worked with EMS to extricate the patient, who was transported to the hospital.
It was later determined that no one had fled the scene. The Life Flight Chopper was not utilized.
