| Alpha members woke up early Saturday morning (05:13) to a dispatch for a dwellling fire at 970 E. McCormock Ave. in College Township. The caller advised dispatch that flames were visible. Police arrived on scene and reported that everyone was out of the house, and heavy smoke was visible from the second story windows- "blowing out the East side of the building." |

Engine crews laid in to the scene from a near by hydrant and immediately went to work in the second story of the dwelling, alpha-delta corner. Truck 517 rolled up shortly after, and was requested for roof ventilation. As interior crews gained control of the incident, exterior work was done to ladder for emergency escape, and preparations were made to vent.
Seeing that the situation was well under control, and that horizontal ventilation was accomplishing objectives well, the roof team was called off prior to making the cut.
Fire investigators carefully examined the scene with support from rotating Truck crews. Units remained on scene until 08:42, when they were placed available.
