PROBLEM IN THE PARKING DECK |

| The Alpha Fire Company was placed on stand-by. Duty Chief 502 (Brown)
was advised to contact the Centre County Communications by phone.

Chief Brown was advised that PSU Police requested the stand-by, because
a vehicle was smoking on the first level of the HUB Parking Deck on the
Penn State Campus. During the call, Chief Brown was advised that PSU
police now requests Company 5 to respond. Engine 512 and Rescue 518
responded and arrived on scene to find a Honda Acura running on the 1st
level of the parking deck. The owner had removed the key from the
ignition and the vehicle continued to run. Crews found the battery
smoking while the engine continued to idle. Crews removed the coil wire
to shut off the car and terminated power to the vehicle by cutting the
battery wires.
