Upon arrival of Chief 57-02,the fire was quickly upgraded to a second
alarm and eventually a third alarm with T-516 requested to the scene.
The fire consisted of several multi-story buildings of brick, wood
construction.
Upon initial arrival, the truck was utilized as an RIT
piece. Upon establishing a RIT Team, the crew of 516 was put to work
searching for a missing firefighter. Fortunately the firefighter was
quickly accounted for and 516 was then utilized to work the fire using
master streams and overhaul on the exterior.
Later in the fire E/R-514
was transferred to station 12 during the incident. Units remained on
the scene for a long period of time.
Approximately 41 units, five
alarms in total, were dispatched to the scene or on transfer
assignments during the incident from four different counties.
