This evening the Alpha's attended fire fighter appreciation night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to see the State College Spikes take on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
Prior to the game the crews were given a behind the scenes tour of the new ballpark.
At the beginning of the game the chief's car (538) and utility (522) made a lap around the warning track. Ike, the mascot, rode in the bed of 522. Captain Kuchmay (595) was selected to throw out the first pitch.
While the engine crew was there they ran 2 calls, a wires down in Ferguson Township, just before the game started, and an automatic alarm in the borough at the end of the game.
The Spikes won the game 3-1.
Thank you to the Spikes for their hospitality during the game and congratulations on a great first year in State College.
