Today at 1230hrs, the Alpha Fire Company was dispatched for a vehicle fire at 214 Val Verda Dr. in Ferguson Township. Engine 510 and Rescue 518 were out the door immediately with 10 volunteers. County followed up with additional information and advised of a working car fire in the vicinity of a residence. Once on scene, 510’s nozzleman stretched the 100 ft 1 3/4″ bumper line and initiated attack on a fully involved Dodge Dakota. The fire was brought under control within a minute and the Company was placed available after 30minutes on scene. While responding to the vehicle fire, Alphas were dispatched for an automatic alarm in the Borough which was cancelled by the alarm company. So far today Alphas have responded to a total of 5 calls.
